Car Shipping USA

The cheapest and most cost effective way to ship your vehicle to the USA is on a roll on roll off service, one of the many things to consider when shipping to the USA is the size of the Country.  Most forwarders will ship your car to the closest port only, leaving you with a terrible dilemma of getting your vehicle to its final destination.  For example, you want to the nearest port to Florida would be Jacksonville.   Most forwarders would charge you up to arrival port only, you then have to arrange with a local company to deliver your car or you would have to arrange to go and collect it from the port yourself.  Either way can be very inconvenient and can cause a stressful situation especially if you are like the majority of people and have a busy life.

We at FirstBase Freight Ltd have a wonderful working relationship with our Agent,  they are based in Miami and cover all car shipping services throughout the USA, they will assist you with the customs clearance and advise you what charges are due so all you have to worry about is making the final payment.   We at FirstBase Freight can supply you with an oncarriage rate from the port up to arrival (door) of its final destination point in Florida or anywhere else at a time and day that is most suited to your busy schedule.  This delivery charge is paid at the same time the shipping rate is so there is no need to pay again for delivery once your vehicle arrives in the States.

There are charges to be applied once your vehicle has arrived at the Port, please contact us for further information.  Here is some information that our Agent would require from you:-

  1. Was your vehicle registered in the U.S?
  2. Was this vehicle manufactured for export to the US?

If the answer to both questions is NO, stop now because the cost to have the vehicle modified to meet Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation standards will run several thousand dollars.  The only exception is for vehicles over 25 years old (considered antiques)

This website should give you most of the information that you need but I think you may find it overwhelming if you do not meet the criteria listed above:

If the answer to either the 2 questions above is YES, then to clear Customs in the US our Agents will need:

  1. The ‘original’ title.
  2. Copy of the registration (one from the US if ever registered their).
  3. Copy of passport or Driver’s License.
  4. Power of Attorney form (they can provide this for you).

US Duties are 2.5% of the purchase value unless previously registered in the US.  If it is a returning vehicle, there will be zero duties due.

Our roll on roll off ports are as follows:-

Baltimore, Brunswick, Charleston, Galveston, Jacksonville, New York, Port Hueneme and Tacoma.

Our Agents can deliver your vehicle on a Car Transporter; they would just require a zip/area code for delivery purposes.
