Our car shipping costs  to China by 20ft container is £1495.00 to Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou and Yantian. Whilst shipping a car to Xiamen in a 20ft container costs £1895.00 from the UK. Our services sail from Southampton on direct sailings to China on our guaranteed weekly sailings. Our rates for 20ft containers are based on us loading one vehicle at our loading facility in Southampton and shipping it directly to China every week.

Our car shipping costs to China by roll on/roll off for saloon cars is £1195.00 to the ports of Shanghai and Huangpu, whereas costs to ship a standard size car is £1295.00 to Tianjin.

Container shipping to China

When shipping a car to China, the safest and the most reliable way would be to ship it inside a 20ft, 40ft or 40ft HC container. Vehicles are loaded at our depot in Southampton and are secured using straps around all four wheels. Wooden chocks are also used and placed in front and behind the wheel to firm up the vehicles position to stop it from moving whilst in transit. Container shipping  to China offers the best way of shipping a vehicle with the added advantage that it sails every week direct from the UK.

For fast and frequent sailings we also offer weekly car shipping by roll on/roll off  to China to the ports of Shanghai, Tianjin and Huangpu. Our secure, purpose built vessels sail from Southampton every 7 days and transit time takes approximately 26-35 days depending on the port rotation. Roll on/roll off ships offer an alternative to container shipping with the advantage that vehicles are simply driven straight on to the ship, strapped and secured and shipped without fuss to China. The ease of unloading these vessels keeps the destination costs in China lower as less handling is involved of the vehicles and they are simply parked in a parking bay until you have arranged your clearance and paid for any arrival fees.

When considering if you should export your car to China, it would be advisable to see if you meet the strict criteria required. For example, do you have Chinese residence status? Only legal residents are allowed to import cars in to China. Only holders of “Z” visas are allowed to permanently import their vehicle.

It is only those who have “foreign expert status” which is provided by the Public Security Bureau and the visa departments that can.
